Receiving routing setting

The Receiving routing setting is deprecated and will soon be removed from usage, replaced by the Routing setting. During this transitional period, Receiving routing settings are still visible in the Admin Console, labeled with a red "deprecated" tag. The settings still work but you can't edit them or create new ones.

We recommend that you convert any existing Receiving routing setting to a Routing setting as soon as possible by following the steps below.

Convert or delete the Receiving routing setting

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

  2. From the Admin console Home page, go to Appsand thenGoogle Workspaceand thenGmailand thenAdvanced settings.

    Tip: To see Advanced settings, scroll to the bottom of the Gmail page.

  3. On the left, select the organization where the setting was configured. Any sub-level organizations will inherit the updates.

  4. Scroll to the Receiving routing setting in the Routing section.

  5. Hover over the setting and choose an option:

    • If you no longer need the settings, click Delete and go to step 9. 

    • If you want to convert the setting to the Routing setting, click Configure and go to step 6.

  6. At the bottom, click Convert. The setting is copied an equivalent configuration in the new Routing setting and shown on the screen.  

  7. Review and edit the new configuration if necessary. For details on the Routing setting, see Set up routing for your domain or organization

  8. (Optional) To convert or delete any other settings, repeat steps 3–7.

  9. At the bottom of the Gmail Advanced settings page, click Save.
