Create a Notes forwarding rule for multiple users

If you use Google Workspace Migration for HCL Notes (GWMHN), your users might need to create an email forwarding rule from Notes to Google Workspace during the pilot or transition period. You can set up the forwarding rule for your users.

To do this, add the Create Forwarding Rules agent to your HCL Domino environment. The agent allows you to create a forwarding rule to multiple users by selecting them in the Domino Directory.

Before you begin

The Create Forwarding Rules agent is not guaranteed to work in all environments or across all versions of Domino server.

Before deploying the Create Forwarding Rules agent to live mail databases, make sure it works in your environment. If you encounter any issues, remove the agent and its rules from your servers.

Add the Create Forwarding Rules agent

1. Go to https://github.com/google and search for the gfw-deployments repository using the search box under Repositories.
2. Select the gfw-deployments repository.
3. Select appslotusscriptforwarding-rulesforwarding-rules.zip.
4. Click Download to download the forwarding-rules.zip file.
5. Extract forwarding-rules.nsf to your HCL Notes client machine.
6. Open the database in Domino Designer.
7. Copy the Create Forwarding Rules agent and the Forwarding Rule form to your Domino Directory.
8. Open the Domino Directory and select the users who want email forwarding.
9. Select ActionsCreate Forwarding Rules.

Email is forwarded to the address specified in the Internet address field within the user's Person document.
