Delegate access to your mail or calendar

With Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook®, you can let an assistant or other peer in your organization access your Google Apps account, to send mail or manage calendar invitations on your behalf. Depending on permissions you grant, the assistant (or delegate) can manage your mail and/or calendar from their own Google Apps profile in Outlook, but they can't change your password or manage other parts of your account.

You set up mail and calendar delegation using your Google Apps interface (not using Outlook's delegation settings or folder permissions as you do with Microsoft® Exchange).
