Feature availability

This feature:

  • Is currently available for meetings spoken in English.
  • Is available by default to all Google Workspace users accounts unless disabled by Admin.
  • Can be turned on or off for all users in your organization, for a specific organizanal unit or configuration group.
  • Is automatically available once there are at least two participants in the meeting.

Ask Gemini will soon be available in Google Meet for select Google Workspace customers, offering advanced features to improve your meeting experience. You can use Ask Gemini to help:

  • Summarize and understand ongoing discussions, or get a recap of what someone said.
  • Quickly catch up on what you missed, or if you joined late (only if Take notes for me was on).
  • Identify key takeaways, decisions, and action items to inform next steps after the meeting.
  • Get real-time answers about meeting content by simply asking a question.

Ask Gemini is built with privacy as a priority:

  • Conversations are visible only to the user and data is not retained after the meeting ends.
  • Ask Gemini does not create a recording or store user input or meeting data after the meeting ends.
  • Gemini may also refer to the Calendar event for the meeting and who has joined, files and emails that you have access to within Workspace, and content from Google search and public websites to create responses.
  • Ask Gemini is not intended for generating transcripts--use the Transcripts feature instead.
  • Gemini in Workspace can make mistakes, including about people. Always review its output.
