Set third-party peripherals as default for Meet hardware

If your Google Meet hardware devices use third-party peripherals, you may want to set these as the default peripherals. Otherwise, at the end of each meeting, Meet hardware automatically resets to Google-supported peripherals.

Only approved peripherals for Meet hardware can be set as default. You set and clear default peripherals for each device individually.

Set a default peripheral

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. Go to Menu and then Devicesand thenGoogle Meet hardwareand thenDevices.
  3. Click the device you want to set the default peripherals for.
  4. In the Connected peripherals section, point at the peripheral you want to set as the default and click Set As Default.

Your update is applied at the end of the next meeting.

Note: When the default peripheral is set but disconnected from the Meet hardware device, an issue is opened. If peripheral alerts are configured, admins  receive email and/or SMS alerts. To close the issue, reconnect the default peripheral, set a new default that's connected to the device, or clear the default.

Clear a default peripheral
