Recording Meet meetings with third-party apps can be a security risk. Use the tips below to restrict those external apps and keep meetings safe for your users.
Block recording apps
Block app domains
Chrome Enterprise Admins can block specific domains related to third-party recording apps. For details, go to Allow or block access to websites.
Ask app owners to block access
Contact the organization that makes the third party app. Ask them to block your organization's access to their domain.
Block apps & extensions in Chrome
Administrators can restrict third party recording apps and extensions in Chrome and Chrome OS.
Block API access
Administrators familiar with APIs can block third party app access to APIs to prevent unwanted access. For details, go to Control which third-party & internal apps access Google Workspace data.
Restrict apps during meetings
Force apps to ask to join
Meeting organizers and hosts can use host controls to restrict meeting access during or before the meeting. If they set access to Restricted, for example, anyone who hasn't been invited must ask to join.
Admins can make this setting the default for all meetings hosted by the organization. For details, go to Manage meeting access settings for your users.
Remove apps from meetings
If you see a third-party app in a meeting, you can remove it like any other participant. For details, go to Add or remove people from a Google Meet meeting.
