Turn access to Google Workspace with Gemini Alpha on or off

As a Google Workspace administrator, you can let your users try Gemini Alpha features before they're made generally available to Workspace users.

Important notes about the Alpha program

  • Gemini Alpha is turned off by default. Only an admin can turn it on.
  • You can turn on Gemini Alpha features for all of your Google Workspace with Gemini users or for a subset of Gemini users within specific organizational units or groups.
  • Alpha features get the same robust data protection standards that come with all Google Workspace services.
  • Alpha features may not be available in all editions of Google Workspace. Check the feature availability table to see what's currently available to your organization.

Periodically, Google adds or removes Gemini Alpha features, and this page is updated for the current, supported Alpha features.

Workspace with Gemini alpha features were previously limited to customers who purchased the Gemini for Workspace add-on. Beginning on April 22, 2025, Gemini alpha feature access is expanding to all customers with these editions of Google Workspace.

What terms apply to Alpha features?

By enabling Gemini Alpha features, you agree that the Pre-General Availability Offering Terms (excluding Section 6.1(b)), and Generative AI Services sections of the Google Workspace Service Specific Terms apply to your organization's use of the Alpha features. For clarity, Google's data protection and processing obligations with respect to Customer Data set forth in the Cloud Data Processing Addendum will apply to the Alpha features.

Take Notes for Me decisions and concise summary

Take notes for me in Google Meet now offers customizable views, enabling users to toggle specific sections such as Summary, Decisions, and Action Items. This update introduces a new, Decisions section to explicitly track outcomes like "Aligned" or "Disagreements," alongside an overhauled Summary section designed for improved conciseness. These enhancements render meeting artifacts more actionable and scannable, minimizing the need for manual post-meeting formatting. Learn how to use take notes for me.

Personalized Help me Write

When you use “Help me write,” it proactively takes details from your other emails and Drive files to draft a personalized response that includes relevant details and matches your tone and style without the need for explicit instructions. This information is only used to improve your drafts when you use “Help me write.” Currently only available in English. Learn more about this feature.

Gemini for Workspace admins

Admins get a Gemini-powered assistant in the Admin console. This assistant helps with complex tasks and troubleshooting, and it teaches best practices. This will make administration of Google Workspace easier and efficient for businesses.

Use third-party integrations in Gemini Apps and Workspace Studio

Have your agents do tasks in third-party services using integrations. Integrations let your agents work across Google Workspace apps and other apps like Asana, Mailchimp, Slack, and Salesforce. Many integrations also work in Gemini Apps.
