When you sign up your organization for Google Workspace Labs, your users can use built-in AI tools to quickly compose and edit emails in Gmail, start drafts in Google Docs, and more. Generative AI like Duet AI for Google Workspace Labs uses aggregated and pseudonymized data to improve. As an administrator, you can control whether Google can use your organization’s customer data.

Manage Workspace Labs data use
You must be signed in as a super administrator for this task.

Sign in with a super administrator account to the Google Admin console.
If you aren’t using a super administrator account, you can’t complete these steps.
- Go to Menu
Account > Account settings > Workspace Labs.
- Choose whether Google is allowed to collect and use your aggregated and pseudonymized data.
- Click Save.
If you previously allowed Google to collect and use your data, and you change the setting to Don’t allow (you opt-out of data collection and use), Google no longer collects and uses data generated after the change. Data collected while allowed can still be used.
Leave Workspace Labs
- To leave Workspace Labs for your entire organization, cancel your subscription. After your organization leaves Workspace Labs, data is no longer collected for your organization (if your organization allowed data use). Data collected while you were signed up can still be used.
- To remove access to Workspace Labs for a specific user, remove their license. You can then reassign the license to another user. After you remove a Workspace Labs license from a user, data is no longer collected for that user (if your organization allowed to data use). Data collected while they had a license can still be used.
