What is Google Sync?
Starting Jan. 30, 2013, only G Suite, Drive for Work, Government, and Education customers can set up new devices with Google Sync. Learn more
Google Sync uses Microsoft® Exchange ActiveSync® to let your users synchronize their G Suite mail, contacts, and calendars to their mobile devices. They can also set up alerts (sound or vibration) for incoming messages and upcoming meetings.
Google Sync is enabled by default on G Suite domains. G Suite, Drive for Work, Education, and Government domains can enforce security policies on Google Sync devices. To learn more, see Mobile Management.
Which devices support Google Sync?
- Google Sync works with iOS, Windows Phone, Windows Mobile, and BlackBerry 10 devices. G Suite, Education, and Government customers should see Set up Google Sync for iOS, Windows, and BlackBerry 10, respectively. Other users should see Google's Sync site or go to m.google.com on their device.
- Android doesn't require Google Sync, but connects natively to G Suite. Learn more at Get Mail and Calendar on your Android.
Considerations:
- Read Known Issues with iOS before enabling Google Sync with iOS devices.
- Setting up a new ActiveSync account on a user's device might remove existing data on the device. Back up the user's data before you set up Google Sync on the device.
