For customers using a supported edition of Google Workspace for Education who wish to become controllers of Service Data and instruct Google as their processor of Service Data (with the exception of limited Service Data processing Google will continue to perform as a controller), Google offers a Google Workspace for Education Service Data Addendum.
The Google Workspace for Education Service Data Addendum introduces new obligations for both Google and your organization. We recommend that you review the addendum carefully to determine whether it is suitable for your compliance purposes.
Before you begin
To accept the Google Workspace for Education Service Data Addendum, your Google Workspace agreement must incorporate the Cloud Data Processing Addendum (CDPA) or its predecessor, the Data Processing Amendment (DPA), by reference. If your Google Workspace agreement does not incorporate the CDPA (or DPA), or if you are unsure whether it does, please refer to the Privacy compliance and records for Google Workspace and Cloud Identity.
Review and accept the Google Workspace for Education Service Data Addendum
You must be signed in as a super administrator for this task.-
Sign in to your Google Admin console.
Sign in using an account with super administrator privileges (does not end in @gmail.com).

In the Admin console, go to Menu AccountAccount settingsLegal and compliance.
- Go to the Security and Privacy Additional Terms section.
- Click Google Workspace for Education Service Data Addendum to review it.
- Click Review and Accept.
- Ensure that you or the appropriate individual within your organization reviews the contract clauses.
- To accept the Google Workspace for Education Service Data Addendum, click I Accept.
