"Google Account already exists": How to resolve Google Apps admin account conflict
If you receive an error message like "Google Account already exists" as you're trying to set up your first Google Apps administrator account, it means that the email address is already associated with another Google service (like an AdWords account). This is called a conflict account, and you will need to use a different email address to set up an administrator account and verify your Google Apps domain.
Follow these steps to work around the conflicting account during sign up:
- Sign up for Google Apps for Business with a new username at your domain.
- You should have access to this email address at your domain and make sure that it isn't already associated with an AdWords or another Google Account.
After you've set up your domain, we recommend you resolve your conflicting account.
