Cancel your G Suite subscription

Cancel your G Suite subscription and delete your organization’s Google Account

To stop using Google services at your organization, you need to cancel your G Suite subscription and any other subscriptions you’ve purchased. This process deletes your organization's Google Account and all your user accounts and data.

Before you cancel

Before you cancel your subscription and close your account, you might need to carry out some or all of the following tasks:

Save user data

All G Suite data (such as Gmail messages, Google Calendar events, and files stored in Google Drive) and user accounts are deleted when you delete your organization’s Google Account. If you need to save user data, it needs to be downloaded before you delete your account.

There are three ways to download G Suite data:

  • Your users can download their data themselves. Learn more
  • As an administrator, you can use an Application Programming Interface (API) to download your users’ data, using a service account that’s authorized to access data on behalf of users. Learn more
  • (Drive files only) As administrator, you can transfer ownership of users’ Drive files to yourself, then download the files. Learn more

If you don’t want to save this data, don’t worry—it’s automatically deleted when you delete your organization's Google Account.

Note: YouTube channels, Google AdWords accounts, Cloud Platform projects, Google+ profiles, Play Developer accounts, and other assets are also deleted when you cancel your G Suite subscription and delete your organization’s Google account. Make sure to transfer ownership of these assets before proceeding.

Save billing records

After you cancel your subscription and delete your account, you won’t be able to access your billing records. You can download any invoices or billing records before you delete. Learn more

Delete G Suite Marketplace apps

If you’ve installed any G Suite Marketplace apps, you need to delete those apps before canceling any of your subscriptions.

To check whether you have Marketplace apps installed:

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. From the Admin console dashboard, go to Appsand thenMarketplace apps.

Cancel your subscriptions and delete your organization's Google Account

Step 1: Cancel other subscriptions

Before you can cancel your G Suite subscription, you need to cancel any other subscriptions that are part of your organization's Google Account.

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

  2. From the Admin console dashboard, go to Billing.
  3. Under Subscriptions, find your current subscriptions.
  4. If G Suite is your only subscription, skip the remaining steps here and go to Step 2: Cancel your G Suite subscription below; otherwise continue to the next step.
  5. Cancel all subscriptions, except your G Suite subscription. To cancel a subscription, click Actions and then Cancel subscription.

Note: If you’re canceling a Domain Registration and you want to keep your domain, you need to record your registrar sign-in information (username, password, and registrar URL). This allows you to unlock and transfer your domain, after you’ve deleted your organization's Google Account (but only until the domain registration expires). Learn more

  6. Click Continue to cancel the subscription.
  7. Repeat this subscription cancellation process, as needed, until you’ve canceled all subscriptions, except your G Suite subscription. Then continue with Step 2 below.
Step 2: Cancel your G Suite subscription and delete your organization's Google Account
  1. Under Subscriptions, find your G Suite subscription.
  2. Click Actions and then Cancel subscription.

Note: After you cancel, Google will automatically charge your primary payment method at the start of the next month. If you’re on Flexible Plan (monthly), you’ll be charged on a prorated basis for this month's usage. If you’re on Annual Plan, your cost for the remainder of your plan is shown on the next page.

  3. Click Continue. Since this is the last subscription in your organization’s Google Account, canceling the subscription will also delete your account.
  4. Check the box to confirm that you’ve backed up your data and are ready to delete your account.
In the next step, when you delete your account, all user data is deleted and cannot be restored. If you need to save user data before deleting, see Save user data above for instructions.

The following things happen after you delete your account:

    • Your organization's Google Account and all user accounts are deleted.
      • You won’t be able to sign in to Google services with this account.
      • Deleted user accounts cannot be restored.
    • You’ll be signed out of Admin console, and returned to the G Suite Home screen.
    • You can no longer sign in to the Admin console.
  5. Click Delete my domain to delete your organization's Google Account.

Note: After deleting this account, you can create a new Google Account with your organization’s domain. It can take up to 24 hours for your domain to be available for a new account signup.
