Billed after account cancellation

Our system operates on a monthly billing cycle, so you might not receive your final charges until several weeks after your service stops.

Overview

When you stop your service, we will suspend charging your service within a day after. Note that depending on the service, there may be a contract which will prevent you from canceling your service immediately.

However, you will be billed for any unpaid costs that were accrued before your service was stopped. Our system operates on a monthly billing cycle, so you might not receive your final charge for several weeks.

Below you'll learn how to see whether you still have unpaid costs in your account. You'll also learn how to verify that you didn't accrue additional costs after your service was stopped.

See whether you have unpaid costs

You can see whether you have unpaid costs by accessing your billing account. Note: You can't access your transaction history and other account pages after canceling your account. To access this page:

  1. Sign in to the Google Admin console
  2. Click Billing > Access billing account. Where is it? 

The Current balance field at the top of the page shows your unpaid costs.

To see any unpaid costs:

  1. On the transaction history page, set the date range so that you're viewing recent activity and make sure you're looking at the Detailed view option in the toolbar just above the transaction history table.
  2. Scan the Description column for the most recent Payment line item. You haven't yet been charged for any of line items that occurred after your last payment. Your last payment didn't necessarily cover all the costs accrued prior to that date.

Verify that you didn't accrue costs after your service was stopped

On the transaction history page, you can also see that there are no line items after the date that your service stopped.
