Gmail themes

Themes allow your users to customize the look and feel of their Gmail accounts by choosing their own colors and background schemes. To select a theme, all users can sign in to their Gmail accounts, go to Settings > Themes and choose from the selection of Gmail themes or create their own. Changing themes does not affect the content or functionality of Gmail, nor does it alter any settings applied by the administrator, such as a customized logo.

Note: Enabling or disabling Gmail themes affects all users.

Gmail themes are enabled when you sign up for a G Suite account. To disable themes:

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

  2. From the Admin console Home page, go to Appsand thenG Suiteand thenGmailand thenUser settings.
  3. Scroll to the Themes section and uncheck the Let users choose their own themes box if it's checked.
  4. Click Save changes.

There may be a delay before changes take effect.

To re-enable Gmail themes, return to the Themes section, check Let users to choose their own themes, and click Save changes.
