Integrate third-party control systems

For large and custom spaces with additional audio visual equipment, it is possible to use third-party control systems with Google Meet hardware. Once integrated, you can use the Meet hardware touchscreen to control room features such as lights, microphones, and speakers.

Configure the third-party controller

Before you begin, configure your third-party controller to manage the meeting room resources.

• Ask your organization’s IT department, network admin, or AV integrator for the controller API and Web UI URLs. 
  • Either a URL or IP address can be entered.  
  • Refer to the controller documentation for more information.
• Use the manufacturer’s documentation to configure your third-party controller.

Note: Private and internal CAs are currently not supported.

Add the controller to Meet hardware

1. Sign in to your Google Admin console.

   Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

2. Go to Menu  DevicesGoogle Meet hardwareDevices.
3. Click a device name to open the details page.
4. Under Device Settings, click Third-party control system. 
5. Scroll down to the Third-party control system and enter the following:
   • API URL—Enter the URL for your third-party controller.
   • Web UI URL—Enter the URL for your third-party controller.
6. Click Save.

7. Wait for the Meet hardware device to apply the changes.

   • On the top of the touchscreen, you’ll see the Room control icon . This means that the Web UI URL is populated.
   • (Optional) To apply the changes immediately, click Reboot device.
8. To verify the integration, tap Room control  and then tap the features that are configured on the third-party system.
