Manage multiple time zones

As a domain administrator, you can set the default time zone for newly created users. Note that if you change the default time zone, this does not change the time zone for existing users. It only sets the default for users you create going forward.

As a user, you can change your time zone to something other than the default. To set the time zone for the events on your personal calendar:

  1. Click the gear icon at the top of your calendar, and then select Settings.
  2. In the Your current time zone section of the General tab, select your time zone.
  3. Click Save.

All events show up on your calendar in the time zone you specify. For example, if you're in New York and you've set your calendar time zone to Eastern Standard Time, an event created in California at 1:00pm Pacific Standard Time will show up on your calendar at 4:00pm.

If you frequently hold meetings across two time zones, you can display both time zones on your calendar and use the swap feature to toggle between them. See Scheduling across time zones to learn more. When traveling, Google Calendar will ask you whether you want to change your time zone to your current location, but won't change it without your permission.
