Manage your YouTube student membership

Student memberships to YouTube Music Premium or YouTube Premium require you to verify your status as a student annually to retain your discounted student pricing. You will receive an email and/or in-app notification near the end of each year of membership reminding you to re-verify your student status.

If you are eligible to re-verify your student status and are less than 30 days away from your student status expiring, you can begin your renewal. To see when your student status expires, or to renew your student membership, visit http://youtube.com/purchases.

You can cancel your YouTube paid membership at any time. When you cancel, you'll still have access to your paid membership benefits until the end of your monthly billing cycle.

You can be on a YouTube student membership for up to 4 years. At the end of each year, you'll be required to re-verify your eligibility. If you remain a subscriber but are no longer eligible for student pricing, your student membership will automatically transition over to a full-priced membership. You can cancel your YouTube paid membership at any time.
