Create a custom radio experience
You can create custom radio experiences in YouTube Music using Music Tuner. Music Tuner lets you manage radio features, like artist variety and familiarity.
To use Music Tuner in YouTube Music,
- Go to the Home screen
and scroll down to Your music tuner.
- Tap Add
to get started.
- Select artists to build your radio experience and click Next.
- Customize your radio by selecting:
- Artist variety: How much variance you’d like between artists within your radio experience
- Music discovery: How familiar you are with artists added to your radio
- Filters: Additional features that may impact your radio, such as BPM, popularity, and mood
- Tap Done to create your radio.

Generate a custom station with Ask Music
Use AI to turn an idea into a customized radio experience by describing what you want to hear. To get started,
- Open YouTube Music and go to your Home tab
- Tap “Ask for music any way you like.”
- Enter a prompt that describes a mood, activity, or listening experience.
- Tap

How Ask Music works
Ask Music Conversational Radio is a Generative AI listening experience that allows you to discover new music alongside songs from the artists you love. You can ask for music recommendations based on your mood, genre, activity, and favorite artists.
Whether you want music that makes you feel warm and fuzzy on a rainy day or an upbeat playlist for your cardio workout, Ask Music Conversational Radio allows you to create a personalized experience just for you.
From the home screen 
- Tap Ask for Music from your home screen
- Use voice
or text to tell the app what you’d like to listen to.
- To access previous radios, navigate to your library
and from the player page of the song that is part of one of your previous radios.

in the upper-right corner.
- Use voice
- If your search query returns a customized radio as the top result, you may see the label “Radio created by AI.”
- Tap Play within the top result and music will begin playing right away.

Customized radios appearing as top results on the search results page are pregenerated by our systems using an LLM to create the title, description and metadata of the radio. Your personal data is not used for this purpose.
Quality and accuracy may vary. We've incorporated safeguards into our AI tools, which aim to avoid the generation of inappropriate content. As such, we may block prompts or outputs that violate our policies, or those that touch on sensitive topics. We're constantly learning and we want to improve this feature, so submit feedback if you find an issue.Access to Conversational Radio
