YouTube Studio

Studio mobile app update: The Studio mobile app versions 23.10 and below will not be supported starting 3 March 2025. Download the latest version from the Play Store or App Store to continue using the app.

Location Auto Tagging: We're expanding auto tagged locations to travel & restaurant-related Shorts to help viewers find locally relevant content. Location tags, based on your Short’s title & description, may appear as an overlay in the Shorts player.
You can adjust or opt-out of auto tagged locations in Studio. Learn more.

Automatic dubbing language update: For creators with access to auto dubbing, the following “experimental” languages: Hindi, Indonesian, and Japanese, are no longer considered “experimental.” They will now be included with the other non-experimental languages and will be auto-published in accordance to your settings if you have auto publish turned on. Learn more.

Changes to Shorts view counting: Starting 3/31/2025, we're updating how we count Shorts views. This update may increase your Shorts views, providing a more complete view of how your Shorts are performing, especially if you share content on different platforms. The previous Shorts views metric will now be called “Engaged views.”

This change won't impact your eligibility for the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), Shorts revenue sharing, or earnings. These will continue to be based on "Engaged views". Learn more.

Updates to the "Video Copyright Details" page: We're updating the design to the "Video Copyright Details" page to make it more intuitive and help you find relevant information faster. You can now better understand the critical information about your channel's status, video's visibility, and monetization after you receive a copyright claim or strike. Learn more.

New suggestions to replace your video songs: We added a new “Suggestions" tab to the Replace song feature in YouTube Studio. Now you can also select the same song multiple times and mute and replace a song in a single operation. Learn more.

Live streaming

YouTube Live Q&A stickers on mobile: You can now add Q&A stickers to live streams on your mobile devices. Q&A stickers are an easy way to engage with your audience in real time with customizable prompts. This feature is currently already on Shorts and now available on mobile live stream. Learn more.

Other updates

Studio app OS requirement: The latest YouTube Studio app only works on Android 10.0 or higher and iOS 16 or higher. Learn how to update the Studio app.

Android bulk upload is no longer available: Starting mid-November 2024, we're phasing out the ability to share multiple videos at once from other apps to the YouTube app on Android. Creators can still upload one video at a time through their Android devices. This change does not affect bulk uploads on desktop. Learn more.

Community tab updates: The Community tab in the YouTube Studio app has been upgraded with new time-saving tools to help you build and manage your communities. Learn more.

Experimenting with minimum payment thresholds: We're continually working to improve the monetization experience for creators. As part of our efforts, we’re experimenting with our payment infrastructure. Over the coming weeks, some creators may notice a change in their minimum payment threshold. This change may be temporary and the experiment does not impact your earnings and overall monetization status.

View YouTube Shopping sales and order data: Creators who have connected their Spreadshop, Spring, and Cafe24 stores to YouTube Shopping can now view more performance data for their products in YouTube Analytics. You can now view total sales, number of orders, top products (by sales) for Cafe24, and top earning content (by sales) on the Revenue tab. Learn more.

YouTube Shorts

Increasing Shorts length: Starting on October 15, 2024, creators can upload Shorts up to three minutes in length. Shorts longer than one minute that have an active Content ID claim will be blocked, regardless of policy. Learn more about three-minute shorts or manage your Shorts.
