You can set up a profile to monitor the dark web so you can learn if your info is found in breaches.
You can check for data on the dark web that might be associated with your email address or other info you add to your monitoring profile. Breach results can contain information like:
- Your name
- Address
- Phone number
- Username
- Password
To maintain privacy, any info found in the breach results is displayed in redacted form.
With the results, you can review your information and make informed decisions about how to protect yourself.
Eligibility
To be eligible for dark web reports, you must have a consumer Google Account. Dark web report is not available for Google Workspace accounts and supervised accounts.
Set up your monitoring profile
You can choose to monitor just your Google Account email address or add other information to your monitoring profile.
- On your computer, go to Dark web report.
- Under Dark web report, click Start monitoring.
- To include additional Google Account personal information in your monitoring profile:
- Select the desired checkboxes.
- Click Allow.
- Confirm your selections and add any additional data you want to monitor.
- Click Done.
How we use your monitoring profile info
When you set up your monitoring profile, your profile info is used to check whether a match was found on the dark web. If matching info is found, we'll email or notify you. You can find guidance on how to protect your personal information on the Security page of your Google Account.
