Important: Google Wallet for kids is currently only available in the US, UK, Australia, Spain, and Poland.
What's Google Wallet for kids
Google Wallet for kids is a way for kids under 13 (or applicable age in your country) with supervised Google Accounts managed by their parents using Family Link to securely save and use payment methods, tickets, and other supported passes.
What kids can do
Your child can do the following with Google Wallet:
- Remove a payment card from their phone or smartwatch.
- Make tap to pay transactions in stores.
- Online and in-app payments aren't supported. Payments across Google, including YouTube and Play, are also not supported. Learn more about tap to pay for kids.
- Add or remove supported passes, like loyalty and gift cards, boarding passes, and event tickets, to their phone or smartwatch. Learn more about supported pass types for kids.
- Manage Wallet settings.

What parents can do
As the parent, you can control the following from your child’s Google Wallet or in Family Link:
- Add payment cards to your child’s Wallet. Learn more about how to add a payment card to your child’s Wallet.
- Monitor your child’s recent transactions through Family Link and email notifications.
- Remove your child’s payment cards remotely.
- Block your child’s access to Wallet passes features.
Important: Spending controls for your child’s payment cards aren't available in Family Link or Google Wallet. However, payment card spending controls may be available through your card issuer. Contact the card issuer to confirm. Learn more about spending controls.
Supervised accounts using Wallet
Children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country) can't use Google Wallet unless they have a supervised Google Account with Family Link.

Tips:
- Only the family manager or someone with parent permissions in your family group on Family Link can manage your child’s Google Wallet. Learn more about managing a family group.
- When your child turns 13 or the applicable age in your country, they'll have the option to manage their own account. You'll receive an email notification before this occurs. Learn more about what happens once your child chooses to manage their own account.
Spending controls
The spending controls for payment cards added to Google Wallet for kids aren’t available on Google Wallet or on Family Link. Some card issuers provide spending controls.
Tip: Check with the card issuer to confirm whether they offer spending controls.
What happens when the child turns 13 (or the applicable age in your country)
Important: The child’s age of consent may vary by country. Learn more about your country’s age requirements.
When your child turns 13 (or the applicable age in your country), they can choose to:
- Take no action and continue their current parental supervision.
- Update their Google Account and continue their current parental supervision.
- Update their Google Account and stop parental supervision.

You and your child will receive reminder emails to notify you that your child can choose to update their Google Account and stop parental supervision. You'll receive these emails leading up to your child’s birthday that marks the age of consent, including:
- 30 days prior
- 7 days prior
- On their birthday
If they decide to update their Google Account, you'll receive another email.
