When i place or receive a call on my phone or pc the call shows connected but no sound

GV was working but now when i place a call on either my phone using the GV app or place a call using my laptop the call shows connected but there is no sound then the call disconnects after about 10 or 15 seconds.  I tried just using the app on my phone and still having issues getting any sound.  I called my friend on my GV app using my phone and we couldn't hear each other then again after 10 or 15 seconds of the call showing it's connected it disconnects.  The last action i took was having my .EDU gmail account and personnel gmail account open at the same time which did not cause an issue until i "switched" accounts while uploading a document from one account to another now GV is not working.  I tried troubleshooting this by logging off of my accounts and using my personnel gmail account which the GV number is tied to but still not working...  I really need to get this working again because i don't want to use my actual phone number on my Resume's while looking for a job.  Please help!!

UPDATE, as of May 13, 8 AM PDT:

Google Voice engineering has resolved the issue of no audio when placing or receiving calls to/from Comcast Xfinity phone numbers.

If you are still experiencing calls with Comcast or Cox Cable customers that have no audio, and probably followed by a disconnect, then please follow the instructions posted by Baldybeardedguy earlier today:

Please test calling Comcast/Cox numbers and see if it is working for you now.
If not, please reply with the following (if you have not already):
  • Date/Time including timezone of call:
  • Last four digits of your Google Voice number:
  • The other party's telephone carrier:
  • Last four digits of that party's carrier number:
  • How you placed the call (using the Google Voice website with Firefox or Chrome Browsers, iOS or Android app, OBi hardware device)
  • Include the following:  "I give Google Voice engineering my permission to examine my call logs"

Again:  thanks for your patience and understanding.

This discussion was about a specific problem, which was fixed.

If you have some sort of audio problem with Google Voice calls, then do NOT post here.  Please start your own, dedicated, new post.  You will need to supply multiple recent  examples of these failing calls.  List the date, time, timezone, last four digits of the number you called, or that called you, and list your own Google Voice number's last four digits.  You must post this from the same Gmail account that holds your Google Voice number.

I'm having similar issues.  It seems Google is connecting to PSTN phone lines that don't pass audio at times. It has been happening more frequently lately.

Issue is still ongoing for me.  Happened again about an hour ago.  Dialed out, call connected, timer started, no audio heard.

The issue is ongoing for me; it has happened a few times today, below is the most recent occurrence:

Date/time: 3:35pm ET
L4 my number: 9347
L4 other party: 0049
Other party's carrier: AT&T
L4 my carrier number: 3467
Call method: Native dialer app on my OnePlus 7T
I give Google Voice engineering my permission to examine my call logs expressly and exclusively for the purpose of resolving this issue.
Please read my updated answer at the top of this discussion:

If you believe you are still having a problem, then make and receive calls from several different other phone numbers, and carefully document your results, per the directions in my post.  Posts that do not include all those details will be ignored.

Thank you so much for the fix!!!  I was trying to get clearance from my school district to grant permission to the logs, but I couldn't get a clear response on whether that breaches confidentiality.  I greatly appreciate everyone else contributing to help them resolve the issue!

I had no issues at all yesterday! (5/14/20). Thank you!

I am still having this issue, but I don't know any Comcast/Cox #s.  Mine is Verizon Wireless.

I have the same issue. When placing a call from Gmail "Make a phone call", using Chrome, about 50% of people I call can't hear me. I can hear them.

All incoming calls! I'm using voice app on Samsung galaxy note 10 plus. Last digit of number 9408.

All of my incoming calls for weeks have had this issue where when someone calls into my google voice line they cannot hear me. If I call out to a number then I am heard just fine.

I have the same issue here. I cannot place or receive any calls, neither on my mobile phone nor on the web interface. It will show that the call is connected, but no audio can be heard and after 10-15 seconds, the call will just drop.
