How do I grey out the Contact circle for messages that are not from a Contact I know?

When I view Messages all the Contact Circles are colored even if the message is from someone not in my Contact List.  (It shows an image of a person instead)
Can I change this to be grey? Or something different so that it stands apart from messages I get from my contacts?

Hi Michael McCarthy 9356, welcome to the free, consumer version of Google Voice (a telephony product) community forum!

This is not currently an option with Google Voice.

You can leave feedback to the developers, by going to the Google Voice website (https://voice.google.com/), and pressing the help  button to the right of the search bar.  Scroll down to the very bottom, and choose "Send feedback".  The help button is in between the headphones, and the settings cog.

You can also send Feedback from within the smartphone app, by tapping the menu () button in the top left corner, then selecting Help and feedback, then select Send feedback.

You will not receive any response, but rest assured, the developers do read all of the feedback, to see what people are saying, and what they desire in the Google Voice app(s), and Web interface.

Learn more about Google Feedback here (You can even view your past feedback):

I try to add contact photos to the majority of my frequently contacted contacts, so that they stand out from non-contacts.

I hope this answers your question!
