Stacks

To apply the exact same edits made on one image to another image:

• Open the image with the desired Stack into Snapseed.
• Tap to open Stacks.
• Tap , then select Copy.
• Tap CLOSE to close Stacks. Before opening the next image, finish working with the current image, if needed. There is no rush to work quickly, as the Stack will remain copied until it is overwritten by another copied Stack.
• Tap OPEN to open the next image.
• When ready to apply the Stack, tap to open Stacks, then tap .
• Select between Replace or Insert. Replace will apply the Stack exactly as copied, overwriting any other Tools and Filters currently applied to the open image. Insert will add the Stack to the open image without overwriting any previous edits. If there are already other Tools and Filters applied to the open image, then a copied Stack can be inserted at any point in the existing Stack.

To make changes to a Tool or Filter without deleting the step and starting over:

• Tap to open Stacks.
• Tap the Tool or Filter that needs to be modified, then tap the arrow to open the edit menu.
• Tap to re-open the Tool or Filter and make any desired changes. Then, tap to return to the Stacks view.
• To reapply the subsequent edits, tap the top-most Tool or Filter in the Stack.

To remove a Tool or Filter from any point of the workflow, without having to undo and recreate any subsequent edits:

• Tap to open Stacks.
• Tap to select the Tool or Filter that needs to be deleted, then tap the arrow to open the edit menu.
• Tap to delete.
• To reapply the subsequent edits, tap the top-most Tool or Filter in the Stack.

The order in which Tools and Filters are applied matters. To add a Tool or Filter into any point of the workflow, without having to undo and recreate any subsequent edits:

• Tap to open Stacks.
• Tap the Tool or Filter in the Stack that should be applied just before the new Tool or Filter. The new Tool or Filter will be applied on top of what is selected.
• Tap CLOSE to exit Stacks. Notice that the image has lost its subsequent edits, but they will be re-applied after the new Tool or Filter has been added.
• Add the desired Tool or Filter.
• Tap to return to Stacks.
• To reapply the subsequent edits, tap the top-most Tool or Filter in the Stack.

The Stacks Brush allows for a Tool or Filter to be applied only to certain areas of the image and not to the entire image. This process, known as masking, significantly expands the editing capability of each Tool and Filter, allowing for more advanced mobile workflows.

• To begin, apply a Tool or Filter to the entire image, as normal.
• Tap to open Stacks.
• Tap to select the Tool or Filter that needs to be masked, then tap the arrow to open the edit menu.
• Tap to access the Stacks Brush.
• Change the opacity of the Stacks Brush by tapping or . A value of 0 sets the Stacks Brush to an eraser to remove previous brush strokes.
• As in the Brush Tool, a single fingertip becomes the brush. Change the size of the Stacks Brush by zooming in and out of the image.
• Tap to show the brush strokes in orange.
• Tap to apply the mask and return to Stacks.
• To reapply the subsequent edits, tap the top-most Tool or Filter in the Stack.
