Pixel 7a battery is really bad...

My pixel 7a battery is really bad... I've done all suggested including reflash the phone yet I still end up around 15% after 3 hours screen on time.

I currently use discord, very very might use of WhatsApp text, very very little use of maps (5 min) and some light browning) yet my screen time is horrendous!

Hi dear Callum Appleton fast battery life drain is a very bad problem hot weather can cause fast battery drain if the device is used in a high temperature environment

its abysmal... this is my second one..iu sent back the first one as i thought it cant possibly be that shit...but no, its the same or worse..
hours to charge to 100%
15 minutes later its at 90%..by lunchtime its 30%
by 2pm..its dead.
and i hardly use it

its a joke phone

My cheap Moto (which I replaced with this f***ing Pixel 7a) cost $118 had much better battery life.

Can i ask? are there steps we are supposed to take when we buy the new phone? like charge it to the fullest when we purchase it? why does the phone not come with its own charger block? maybe it would work better if there were instructions to charge full at first use and with its own charger? been a samsung fan boy, my first one out and i am getting this experience

I'm having the same issue with my 7a, the battery lasts from about 7a to 6p every day. It never got any better after the supposed learning curve over the first 2 weeks. The 6a was similar but it lasted slightly longer, the 5a with it's 5000 mAh battery was lasting about 1.5 days. The 7a needs to be constantly charged to make it through a day. Note I tried all recommendations and have never used the 90 Hz refresh rate and adaptive battery is enabled, the battery is just really bad.

Yes. Took the 7a on vacation, barely used it and the battery went from 100% at 8am to 1% at 11pm. It's 2023. A phone should be able to make it 24hrs on a charge with low use. I switched back to my 5a. I hope there is a class action on these Tensor phones. They're terrible.

Anyone experiencing these problems should contact Pixel Support after working through the troubleshooting steps on this Help page

and after contacting their cellular provider to verify that the phone is properly provisioned.

My Pixel 7a battery is also very bad, I have installed Accu battery from the start and my pixel 7a is now just over 4 months old, and accu battery says my battery health is at 52%, I know Accu battery is not 100% accurate, I installed the app Battery One, and there my battery health is at 48% health, so yeah I have ordered a repair with battery problems, got my packaging today, hopefully google just had a bad batch of batteries and can sort out this mess, my old phone a Samsung galaxy s8 can keep a charge better then my Pixel 7a.

I have read a couple of posts on reddit with people having similar problems with there battery health declining very fast, so maybve there is some kind of hardware problem with the 7a pixel phones.

Same problem here, totally unacceptable in 2023. It just drains the battery within 12 hours with very, very little use. Coming from a couple of Moto G phones (very cheap phones) this is quite a deception. Those things would run for 40 hours straight.

Make sure your OS is up to date and that nothings draining the phone abnormally. Google will likely ask you if you've done a factory reset. If you elect to do so, use Google One to back up everything (One also backs up SMS and MMS) and if the bad battery life remains, have Google Support get involved and they should be able to help.

I have also the Pixel 7a and I experience the same problem with Battery drain. Why does Google even sell this phone. You can only work for two hours screen time and then it is empty. Worst phone ever. I will never buy anything from Google anymore. I had the Pixel 4a and battery last 5 days and i have all the same applications on the 7a. I allready tried everything, factory reset stop all apps. Even in extreme Battery mode and phone is idle it burns 3% of my Battery life in one hour, meaning doing nothing with my phone it is empty at the end of the day. Support says that I have to wait on next update from November, they say that in september too to wait on Android 14....

Sorry I did not want to threaten. But if my pixel 4a has a battery life of 5 days when idle with all apps and cellular listening. And my pixel 7a do not last a day when idle with all the same applications and at the same cellular area. Then I will think twice to buy a pixel again. I will read more forums and shall not buy it direct at the release! I am in the Netherlands by the way. And yes I have contact Pixel support. I even had set cellular and wifi off and put in extreme Battery mode and still every hour lost 2 percent. I have got all my apps closed, because i think that Android never put the Pixel in deep sleep? I now get 1 % in an hour when closing all apps, but that means i will not receive any messages from whatsapp for example. I think this is not the meaning of a phone?

I think the Tensor chip is to powerful. I was on summer holiday it was 25 degrees outside taking some pictures and video. It got crazy hot and camera could not handle also battery was dropping. To much horsepower for battery and phone design...?
