Your Pixelbook battery will last up to 10 hours before you have to recharge.*
Plug in your power adapter
Charge the battery on your Pixelbook by plugging a power adapter into one of the USB Type-C ports on either side of the device.
You'll know it's charging when the battery icon in the lower right of your screen changes from to
. Click your account photo in the lower right corner of your screen to see how much time it'll take to fully charge your Pixelbook. When your Pixelbook is fully charged, the battery icon will change to
.
Check your battery power
If your battery is about to die, a warning will show in the bottom right corner of the screen. You'll also see a blinking red light next to one of your Pixelbook's USB-C ports. Plug in your Pixelbook to continue working.
See how much charge your Pixelbook's battery has by clicking the battery icon in the lower right corner of your screen. A window will open to show you what percentage of power is remaining and how much time it'll take until your battery is drained.
The small light next to the charging port will also indicate your Pixelbook's charging state:

Connect to a phone, tablet, or laptop with USB Type-C
You can charge your Pixelbook using a phone, tablet, or other laptop with a USB Type-C port, if the other device supports two-way charging:
- If your Pixelbook is plugged into a power adapter, unplug it.
- Connect your Pixelbook to another laptop, tablet, or phone with a USB Type-C port.
- Click your account photo in the lower right corner of your screen.
- Click Settings

- In the "Device" section, click Power.
- Choose the port to which your phone, tablet, or other laptop is attached.
For example, if you'd like to charge your Pixelbook using a phone that's connected to the left USB Type-C port, select USB-C device (left port). - Your Pixelbook will begin to charge from the other device.
Tips to help your battery last longer
Here are a few tips that can prevent your battery from draining too fast:
- Avoid adjusting your screen brightness and keyboard backlight to the highest setting. Consider keeping your screen brightness around 50%.
- Don't run more than one processor-heavy app (like Adobe Lightroom) at a time.
Troubleshoot issues with charging Pixelbook
We recommend using the USB-C power adapter that came with your Pixelbook. If you need another one, you may order one from the Google Store.
You can charge your device using most USB Type-C ports or USB chargers with a Type-C to Type-A adapter cable that comply with the USB-C Standard. However, these chargers may provide less power to your device, and take longer to charge than the original charger, or even be unable to charge the battery while the device is on. For this reason, we always recommend using the original chargers or a Made for Google charger.
