Why isn't there a mass delete option for spam, blocked, and archived messages?

Having to open each individual message defeats the point of not having potential viruses, emulators or cloing which has happened before. This seems a massive flaw. There used to be a delete all option without having to open them. Why would you take this away?

Open the messages application then go to the top right hand corner where your profile icon is tap on that then go to Help and feedback
