Similar to how Google helps you reach customers on a more global scale using your website contents, Google also uses the contents from your marketing content to receive information about new arrivals, sales or ongoing promotions, social media profiles, and others to display in places across Google such as Search, Shopping, and Maps. You can also choose to opt-out from sharing product and business information to your marketing content.

Effortlessly boost your visibility on Google. Google will automatically display your marketing content including new arrivals, sales, and promotions on Search, Shopping, and more. Save time and effort by letting Google automatically showcase your brand and products using information from your existing marketing content. You’ll remain in control and can opt out anytime in Merchant Center.
How does Google sign up to your marketing content?
Google may sign up for these communications automatically. Alternatively, a merchant can send their marketing content to Google. If your website allows email marketing communications, you can add marketingemailtogoog@gmail.com to your marketing communications list to make sure that Google is receiving your email to get the latest content directly from you. You can do this wherever you send your marketing content.
What information does Google extract?
Google crawls through the marketing content to gather relevant data, including, but not limited to:
- Links to primary social media channels
- Highlighted social media content
- Upcoming or current sales and promotions
- Brand images and videos
- Brand voice and values
How does Google use the information?
Google will collect and display relevant content from your marketing content on Search, the Shopping tab, and more This includes sales and other promotions, social media links, new product announcements, and more. We'll treat this content as “Content” subject to the Merchant Center terms. No other terms and conditions will apply to the use of the marketing content within Merchant Center.
How do I opt-out marketing content usage?
You can opt-out marketing content usage by following the steps below:
Go to General account options in your Merchant Center.
Scroll down to “Marketing content usage” section, then select Do not share data.
Click Save.
After you opt-out, Google will no longer show information from your marketing content on Google.
