Manage data sharing settings in Google Maps built into your car

• Updates to the map based on trip & sensor data aren’t associated with your Google Account or vehicle.
• Trip & sensor data is also not associated with your Google Account, but with a securely generated identifier that resets on a regular basis. That means Google can’t look up this data based on your Google Account.
• Other data collected as you explore the world, such as when you use the Google Assistant, may be associated with your Google Account. You can control Web & App Activity by visiting myactivity.google.com.
• To change location permission for Google Maps in the car, go to Settings Apps and notifications App permissions Location Maps.
• Google only collects the trip & sensor data needed to provide the best Maps experience for everyone—after processing, it’s deleted.

• Maps will auto-download offline maps for you and keep them up to date.
• Your vehicle may periodically contact Google servers to provide info, such as your vehicle’s location, Timeline, and offline maps you’ve already downloaded.
• You can still select your own offline maps to download.
• Turning this off won’t delete offline maps that have already been downloaded.
• To delete offline maps, go to Settings   Offline maps.

If you choose to manually download offline maps:

• You select the offline maps you want to download and manually update them yourself. To begin, go to Settings   Offline maps.
• If you don’t download or update the offline map of the area you’re driving in, some of your vehicle’s safety features may not work.
