get rid of specific suggestion for language/zone in Google news

Hi
I usually browse Google news in french / France, french / Switzerland, english /UK and english/ USA. More than 6 months ago I clicked ONCE on french /Belgium .Ever since this option  appears systematically on my list of suggestions for language/zone , taking place of one of my four regular options ( usually the one I favour ) which obliges me to scroll down the whole list. How do I get rid of it?  Google News Help ignores the item "suggestion" and just tells me how to change the language/zone option , something I am quite expert at... In despair I even asked ChatGPT who gave me the same boring inadequate answer. Any expert/ genius here?

Hi,

I think it is supposed to select those four based on what you have recently selected. So if you select something else, or go through a couple changes not including French/Belgium, it should stop suggesting it.

That's the way it works in the test I just did. I had Brazil as a suggestion. I switched to a couple of different editions a few times, and Brazil dropped off.

It sounds like you are doing that though, if you have four you usually switch between, those four should stick as your suggestions.

I would suggest sending a note directly to Google about this issue. You can do that by clicking on your account icon in the upper right corner of the app, or the ? icon if you are on the web version, and following the prompts to 'feedback'.

When you do that, the feedback ticket will include some additional information about what version you are using and the environment it's in. That might help them track down what is going on. Google engineers probably won't respond back to you, but they gather all of the feedback and consider it as they make updates,

I'm pretty sure that those preferences (wrong as they may be) are stored somewhere on your Google account, but I'm not absolutely sure of that.

I use a Chrome extension called Awesome Cookie Manager to select and delete specific cookies. It's handy. I just turn it on when I want to manage a cookie. I'm sure there are other extensions that do this too, but the one I use is here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/awesome-cookie-manager/hcpidejphgpcgfnpiehkcckkkemgneif

You might give it a try just in case it is stored in cookies. If you do try it, I'd appreciate it if you jump back in here to try and let me know if it worked :)
