Gemini refuses to set timers and alarms
Hey there,
I'm using Gemini in a Pixel 9 Pro XL.
It refuses to let me set alarms or timers.
The "functions" extension is activated and so is "assistant funcionality" in the settings.
I have the latest version of Gemini and zero system updates waiting.
My native language is German. I asked other users with an identical setup. They can set timers and alarms without problems (for months now)
Tried version 1.5 and 2.0 of the model.
What could be wrong?
Help please!
Following Pop-up says:
Timer requests refused.
Sorry, I can't help you with that. You can set an alarm using the device's built in clocks.

I know there was a problem with setting alarms and timers around a year ago but thought that had been sorted out.

@Dasgonder. My comment was not intended to be helpful, I was pointing out that this forum relates specifically to Gemini and is not intended to promote others. Hopefully your choice will continue to fulfil your current requirements and that Gemini will continue to improve over time.

@Dasgonder. Congratulations on finding something that suits your personal requirements but this is the Gemini Community so we really would prefer to discuss the use of Gemini in this thread.

Let the developers know about this issue.
1. Open the Gemini app.
2. At the top, tap your profile picture or initial.
3. Select "Feedback" and then tap "Get Started."
4. Enter your feedback regarding the app. You also have the option to add a screenshot to help us understand the issue better.
5. Tap "Send Feedback" to submit your comments.
We appreciate your help! We probably won't be able to send you an individual response, but we'll investigate your report and use the information you provide to improve Gemini Apps

You can also leave feedback from within the Gemini app too as 'voice' still works on my Nest speaker that is still powered by Assistant.

It might be a plan to check settings and if all seems correct, contact your device manufacturer's customer service for further advice.
