You can create podcast-style conversations from documents, slides, and Deep Research reports with Audio Overviews in Gemini Apps.
What you need
- For now, this feature isn’t available to users under 18 years old.
- To use this feature, you must be signed in to Gemini Apps. Learn how to sign in to Gemini Apps.
Important: Audio Overviews can only be created in English. You can submit uploaded files and prompts in any language supported by the Gemini web app or mobile app.
Create an Audio Overview
- On your computer, go to gemini.google.com.
- Click Add file
and select the file you want to upload.
- Learn more about how to upload files in Gemini Apps.
- Click Generate Audio Overview.
- It usually takes about 3-5 minutes to generate the Audio Overview. While you wait, you can leave the chat and start a new chat.
Play an Audio Overview
- On your computer, go to gemini.google.com.
- If your chats are hidden, at the top, click Menu
.
- On the side panel, select the chat with the Audio Overview you want to listen to.
- Click Play
.
Share or download an Audio Overview
- On your computer, go to gemini.google.com.
- If your chats are hidden, at the top, click Menu
- On the side panel, select the chat with the Audio Overview you want to share.
- In the Audio Overview player, click More
.
- Choose how you want to share:
- To share the link: At the top, next to the
g.co/gemini/sharelink, click Copy public link. Then paste it where you want to share, like in a messaging app, an email draft, or a forum thread.
- To share on an available social platform: At the bottom, click the social platform and follow the on-screen instructions.
