With Gemini Live, you can have a natural, free-flowing conversation with Gemini. You can even interrupt it like when you want to add more details or change the topic of the conversation. With Gemini Live, you can:
- Talk back and forth: Talk to Gemini without typing, and Gemini will respond back verbally.
- Brainstorm ideas out loud: Ask for a gift idea, to plan an event, or to make a business plan.
- Explore: Uncover more details about topics that interest you.
- Practice aloud: Rehearse for important moments in a more natural and conversational way.
Important: We’re gradually releasing updates to Gemini Live, so the latest changes might not be available to you just yet.
What you need
- An Android phone or tablet.
- The Gemini mobile app, or Gemini as your mobile assistant.
- For now, Gemini Live isn’t available in the Gemini web app or Gemini in Google messages.
- A personal Google Account that you manage on your own.
- For now, Gemini Live isn’t available while signed in to a work or school Google Account.
- Be 18 or over.

- For now, Gems can't be used with Gemini Live.
Before you use Gemini Live
- Respect others’ privacy and ask permission before recording or including them in a Live chat.

Go Live with Gemini
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gemini mobile app

- You can also go Live by saying “Hey Google, let’s talk Live” or “Hey Google, let’s talk.”
- At the bottom, tap Live
.
- For your first time, follow any on-screen instructions.
- Start talking.
Tips:
- To turn off the mic, tap Hold

, or say “stop.”

Manage your Live chat with Gemini
Important: If your Gemini Apps Activity setting is on, transcripts of your Live chats are saved in your Gemini Apps Activity. We're gradually releasing an update that will also save your Live recordings, including audio as well as any video and screenshares you show Live, in your Gemini Apps Activity if it’s on. Important: For now, the features below are available on any Android device with Gemini Advanced. Without Gemini Advanced, they’re available on Pixel 9 and later, and Samsung Galaxy S25 and later devices. These features are being released gradually, so they might not be available to you just yet.
