Fix problems with Gboard

If you have issues or privacy concerns with Gboard, try these steps.

Restore Gboard

Switch back to Gboard

If Gboard switches to another keyboard, you can switch it back.

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open any app that you can type with, like Gmail or Keep.
  2. Tap where you can enter text.
  3. At the bottom of your keyboard, touch and hold Globe Globe.
  4. Tap Gboard.

Add Gboard back to your keyboard list

When you update Gboard, it could disappear from your keyboard list. To add it back:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Settings app Settings app.
  2. Tap System and then Languages and input.
  3. Tap Virtual keyboard and then Manage keyboards.
  4. Turn on Gboard.

How to send feedback to Gboard

If you use an Android device, you can send feedback directly from Gboard or through Android Settings.

Send feedback through comma on Gboard

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open any app that you can type with, like Gmail or Keep.
  2. In the bottom left of your keyboard touch and hold the comma, then drag your finger to the Settings to access Gboard settings Settings.
  3. In the top right hand corner, tap More More and then Help & feedback and then Send feedback.

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open Settings Settings.
  2. Tap System and then Languages & input.
  3. In the top right corner, tap Help .
  4. At the bottom of the page, tap Send feedback.
