I forgot my pin/pattern for the safe folder, how do I reset it?
Important: If you reset the pin or pattern, all files in the safe folder will be deleted permanently. Please back up all your files first before resetting. These deleted files will no longer be recoverable.

I accidentally deleted all the files in the safe folder, how to recover it?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to recover the files that have been deleted from the safe folder. Be aware that files deleted from the safe folder will be permanently deleted. Recovering deleted data is not possible. There isn't any other way to recover those deleted files.
Important: Uninstalling the Files by Google app will permanently delete files in the safe folder. If you want to keep your files in the safe folder, take files out of the safe folder and back it up before uninstalling.

If you've deleted files, photos, or videos outside of the safe folder, you can check if they are in the trash. To check and restore deleted photos & videos from trash:
- On your Android device, open Files by Google
- At the top left, tap Menu
Trash
- Find the files you want to move out of Trash
- At the bottom, tap Restore
- On the confirmation dialog, tap Restore
(Note: Files remain in Trash for 30 days and then are automatically deleted. Once deleted, these files will not be recoverable)
(Make sure to check if your files are backed up on Google Photos or Google Drive)
