My android TV ( Philips) doesn't have the duo app in the play store.

My Philips TV doesn't seem to find duo when I search in the play store. My TV version is shown as 8, so should be shown as should work from version 5. Would appreciate any help as need this in time for Christmas now that we have been placed in full lockdown again.

Hi all,
Google Duo should be available for download on Android TVs.
If you are still running into an issue, please give a reply!

Hi,
So to be sure:

- What you need
To use Duo on your TV, it must:
  • Have an Android TV device with Android 5.0 or higher.
  • Have a camera and microphone connected.
  • Be connected to the internet.

Edit: Are there maybe any updates available?
Regards,

So can someone definitively say what the story is with duo not showing up? Official info says with Android 8 you can get duo  but it appears that isn't so. What is the straight answer?

After Sony software upgrade Duo is back. Was able to make video call but could’t hear voice

Sony KD-55X8500G
Worked beautifully before OS update. Suddenly gone. Still works on my Xiaomi tv box but it's been begging for the update. Left with no choice but to not updated in fear of losing the app. Really annoyed at the moment

Brilliant. I checked yesterday and it finally appears.
It doesn't recognise a web cam being plugged in though. It's a simply plug and play usb camera, I have another similar program like duo on the TV and the camera works fine with this, why does duo not see it?

Great that you can download it now!

With regard to the camera:
  • Connect a USB camera and microphone directly into your Android TV or Android TV device, if a camera or microphone isn’t built-in
  • If you use an Android TV Box, you must plug your camera into its USB port

If the camera still does not work with Google Duo, I suggest you send feedback.

The Duo is available now. thanks
But the image quality is very low.
Tested with Logitech C922 webcam (https://www.logitech.com/en-us/products/webcams/c922-pro-stream-webcam.960-001087.html)

I tested the Duo with this same camera on my computer and the image was with great quality.

Hi

Reinstalled Duo again, but the same problem as 4 days ago - no voice from another party (iphone app).  Video is fine, another party can hear me, but on TV I can't hear.  My TV is Sony Bravia XG95 (X950G)

Hello - The DUO app is back in the Sony App store on my TV.  I installed it, the video works and I can hear people I call, but they can't hear me.  Same problem I had when I initially installed it.

Yesterday one more Sony software upgrade came in. Problem still the same - I am able to make video call but can't hear other people, they can hear me from Sony.
