Add / remove users

Full users can view all data, and take most actions, such as changing site settings or demoting sitelinks. Restricted users can view most data, and can take some actions (such as using Fetch As Google and configuring message forwarding). If you want someone to have full control over the site (and you are a site owner yourself), add them as an owner instead. Not sure? Read about permissions in Webmaster Tools.

Only site owners can add or remove users or other owners. If you've added and verified your site in Webmaster Tools), or if your site has been automatically verified, you're a site owner.

Add a user:

  1. On the Webmaster Tools home page, click the site you want.
  2. Click Configuration, and then click Users.
  3. Click Add a new user.
  4. Type the email address of the user you want to add, and select the permission level you want. More information about user permissions.
  5. Click Add.

Once this is complete, the new user should sign in to Webmaster Tools and add the site in the normal way. The owner will be automatically verified.
