The complications on my watch face have changed

A complication is a special feature on a watch face that contains at-a-glance information or a shortcut that you want access to throughout the day.

After you update your watch to Wear OS 5, you may notice:

  • Complications on your watch face have changed.
  • Complications may have been removed.

These changes are part of our ongoing efforts to improve Wear OS.

Restore complications

If the complications on your watch face are no longer available, you can switch watch faces:

  1. To find the list of watch faces, touch and hold the screen while on the current watch face.
  2. Swipe left or right to find another watch face.
  3. To select the watch face you like, tap the screen.

To find watch faces other than the listed watch faces:

  1. Touch and hold the screen.
  2. Swipe until you find the “Add new” option in the list.
  3. Tap Add new.

You can also install a new watch face from the Play Store app:

  1. Open the Play Store app on your watch or companion app.
  2. Select a watch face that you like.
  3. Tap Install.

After installation, you can set your current watch face.

Tips:

  • The watch face you download from the Play Store app may not support the complication you want. You can try a different watch face to check the compatibility with the required complication.
  • You can request a refund for your watch face. Based on the refund policies, Google might issue refunds for Google Play purchases. Learn about refunds on Google Play.
