Setup Waze on Android Auto

Once connected to your car/receiver, Waze projects a limited version of the app to your car's display, which focuses primarily on navigation; 

You can navigate through search or voice commands, however, you won’t be able to update your settings, add or modify Favorites, send reports via voice commands, etc.

Please make sure to login and setup your preferences through your mobile phone before connecting to Android Auto.

Test the Beta version of Waze on Android Auto

  1. Make sure to register your Android Auto device details in your Beta community profile.

  2. Download and install the latest Waze version. Not sure which? Check the Releases section in Waze Discuss.

  3. Read the forum post about the current Android Auto version. As a Beta tester, you should focus on latest features, known issues and existing bugs.

Report an issue with Waze on Android Auto

If you’ve experienced an issue with Waze on Android Auto:

  1. Please make sure the bug is reproducible. Find guidelines here.

  2. Report the bug through the Waze app or through Waze Discuss.

    1. Check if the issue you encountered has already been submitted: Search for bug reports by typing relevant keywords in the search field. 

    2. If your issue cannot be reproduced and you didn't find a similar issue, please tell us about it through the forum.

  • Reporting a bug through Waze Discuss? Please submit your logs: 
    1. Disconnect your device from the Android Auto unit.
    2. Tap Reports > Bee icon.
