To install additional seats for your SketchUp Pro network license, you must have your email with the new serial number that covers the increased number of sets.
- On a local workstation that has SketchUp installed, start SketchUp.
- If you are going to install the license file in the same folder on your network, make sure you know that location:
- Open the Help menu, point to License, and then click License Info.
- Make a note of the location of the license file folder.
- Open the Help menu, point to License, and then click Authorize.
- Open the email that contains your SketchUp Pro license information, copy the entire contents of the email, and paste it into the Authorization form.
- Click OK.
- A Browse for Folder dialog box opens. You can install the new network license in the existing license folder or in a new location. Browse to the folder you want to use, and then click OK. This creates a new license file named SketchUp#.lf for the increased number of seats.
- To update the other existing SketchUp workstations:
- If you installed the license file in the existing license folder, you don't need to do anything else; all the other existing SketchUp workstations will now connect to the new license file.
- If you installed the license file in a new location:
- Delete any other older SketchUp#.lf from any server other than the new server; however, do not delete the SketchUp#.lf file from any workstation.
- Make a copy of the new server.dat file on the local workstation, and paste it into the C:\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp #\ folder on all of your other SketchUp workstations.
- There are two ways to authorize any new SketchUp workstations:
- Copy the server.dat file form the local workstation to the new workstations:
- Copy the server.dat file on the original local workstation to a portable media like a jump drive.
- Install SketchUp on each of the new workstations, but don't start it.
- On each of the other workstations, paste the server.dat file into the SketchUp Program Files folder (for SketchUp Pro: C:\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp #\).
- Point the other workstations to the license file:
- Install SketchUp on each of the other workstations.
- On each workstation, start SketchUp, and then click Continue.
- In SketchUp, open the Help menu, point to License, and then click Set Network License File.
- Point to the SketchUp#.lf file in the license folder on the server.
- Copy the server.dat file form the local workstation to the new workstations:
