Navigating in the Location Picker

You can use your mouse, the on-screen navigation controls, or the keyboard to navigate around the Location Picker. The controls you use depends on the view. The Map, Satellite, and Hybrid views use the same controls. The Earth view use slightly different controls.

Using a 3-button mouse to navigate the Map, Satellite, or Hybrid view

Following is a list of mouse operations you can use to navigate the map:

  • Hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse to pan around the map.
  • Roll the mouse wheel forward to zoom in on a location.
  • Roll the mouse wheel backward to zoom out from a location.
  • Click the left mouse button on a place marker to zoom in to on that location.

Using on-screen navigation controls to navigate the Map, Satellite, or Hybrid view

The navigation controls consist of arrow buttons allowing you to pan around the map and the zoom slider bar allowing you to zoom in to a location or out from a location. An image of the Navigation Controls follows:

You can do any of the following using the navigation controls:

  • Click any one of the arrow buttons (1) to pan in that direction on the map.
  • Click the Last Location (2) button to pan to the last location.
  • Click on the plus end of the zoom slider bar (3) to zoom into a location.
  • Click on the minus end of the slider bar (3) to zoom out from a location.

Using the 3-button mouse to navigate the Earth view

Following is a list of mouse operations you can use to navigate while in the Location Picker Earth view:

  • Hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse to pan around the map.
  • Hold down the mouse wheel and move the mouse to tilt/rotate.
  • Roll the mouse wheel forward to zoom in on a building.
  • Roll the mouse wheel backward to zoom out from a building.
  • Hold the Shift key, press the left mouse button and move the mouse forward or back to tilt.
  • Hold the Shift key, press the left mouse button, and move the mouse left or right to rotate.

Using the keyboard to navigate the Earth view

Following is a list of keyboard buttons used to navigate while previewing your building in the Viewer:

  • Press the up, down, left or right arrow keys to pan.
  • Press the plus (+) key to zoom in on a building.
  • Press the minus (-) key to zoom out from the building.
  • Hold the Shift key while pressing the up and down arrow keys to tilt.
  • Hold the Shift key while pressing the left or right arrow keys to rotate.
