Postini

You are billed annually for your Postini services on a per user basis, with administrators included in the user count. Google doesn't currently offer monthly billing. For example, if you deploy Google Message Discovery to five users at your company plus an IT administrator, billing works like this: 6 user accounts x $25 annual fee per user = $150 total annual fee.

If you ordered and activated Postini online, or if you received a notification with instructions for setting up a Postini Billing Account, you can also purchase additional user licenses online, and upgrade your service online. After you place your order and Google verifies your account information, your credit card is charged and Google sends you the activation email. The pricing covers one year of service per user account from the time of purchase.

If you ordered and activated Postini online, or if you received a notification with instructions for setting up a Postini Billing Account, you can also purchase additional user licenses online, and upgrade your service online. If you ordered and activated Postini services online, or if you received a notification with instructions for setting up a Postini Billing Account, the Domain Settings page in your Billing Account will state how many user licenses (or "user accounts") you've paid for. This page will also state the "valid until" date or "contract renewal date."

Postini services work with most common email platforms, including Microsoft Exchange, IBM Lotus Domino, Novell Groupwise, and many webmail solutions. To use the service, you need the ability to change your MX records to direct mail for your domain to Postini's servers.

If you'd like to replace your current email system, Google also offers email through Google Apps for Business. Google Apps for Business is a hosted email and collaboration solution which includes 25 gigabytes of email storage space per user, migration tools, and other collaborative applications.

Postini supports aliases for both users and domains at no extra charge. Each purchased user in your account can have up to five email aliases associated with it. If your users receive mail at multiple domains, you can also add your secondary domains as aliases.

Messages to alias addresses are filtered by the message security service. You can add aliases and adjust the filtering levels in your Administration Console.

If you ordered and activated Postini services online, or if you received a notification with instructions for setting up a Postini Billing Account, you may get a warning in the Postini Administration Console if you try to add users after reaching the maximum number of paid user licenses for your account. To see your individual users by specific user name or email address, log into your Admin Account through the Postini Administration Console.

If you are an online customer (that is, you did not sign a paper contract for your service):

To stop mail filtering, change back your MX records to point to your original service provider or server settings. After your MX records have propagated over the Internet (this typically takes 2-4 days and you will lose no mail during this time), your mail will be delivered as before through your service provider.

If you are an offline customer (that is you signed a paper contract for your service):

Please submit a cancellation case through the Postini Support Portal, or contact Postini Customer Care to submit your request to not renew your contract. Please note that this request to stop your renewal must be received more than 15 days before your renewal date. After this time, contracts cannot be changed until the next year's renewal.
