You can search for a location using its latitude and longitude coordinates, as well as get the coordinates of a location you've already found on Google Maps.
Search for a location using coordinates
If you already know a location's coordinates and want to find it on the map, simply enter the coordinates in the Google Maps search box. To create the degree symbol, press Option-0 (Mac) or ALT+248 (Windows).
Example: try a search using these coordinates: +38° 34' 24.00", -109° 32' 57.00" (for a location in Moab, Utah, United States)
Get the coordinates of a location
If you want to get the coordinates of a location you see on Google Maps, just right-click the location then select What's here?. The coordinates will appear in the search box. Learn more about coordinates in Google Maps.
Get coordinates faster using Labs
Find coordinates faster and add temporary coordinate labels using the following Labs features.
If you're signed in to your Google Account, we'll save your Labs preferences so you don't have to re-enable them next time.
LatLng Tooltip
To get the coordinates of a location, point your cursor to the location on the map then press Shift.
LatLng Marker
To add a temporary coordinates label to a location, right-click a point on the map then select Drop LatLng Marker.
