Privacy and My Location

Google takes privacy very seriously, so your location will never be used without your permission. The first time you use My Location on Google Maps, you may be asked to confirm that you're happy to share your location with Google Maps, and you can always undo your decision.

Google Maps obtains your location from your web browser through its Geolocation feature. To find out about how your browser obtains your location, and how it protects your privacy, see your browser's Geolocation documentation.
