Create a new Google Ads account using a non-HRK currency

On January 1, 2023, Croatia will be changing their official currency from the Croatian Kuna (HRK) to the Euro (EUR). Accordingly, Google Ads purchases must be made in a currency other than HRK starting January 1, 2023.

On December 31, 2022, all Google Ads accounts running activity in HRK will be deactivated. This means that from that date, if your Google Ads account is set up with HRK as its currency, you’ll no longer be able to advertise using your existing Google Ads account.

Action required

It is not possible to change currency settings on an existing Google Ads account. In order to continue advertising with the campaigns currently running in a HRK account, take the following steps by December 31, 2022.

  1. Create a new Google Ads account, making sure you select a non-HRK currency as the account’s currency.
  2. Set up your payment method.
  3. Transfer your previous HRK account’s campaigns and settings to the new account. You can use Google Ads Editor to easily transfer your Google Ads campaigns and settings from one account to another.
  4. After your new Google Ads account is active, cancel your previous HRK Google Ads account.

If you have any questions about this change, contact your account manager or Google Ads support.
