Google Maps lets you check in to places, see your friends’ check-ins, earn status levels, and receive offers, where available. Just like location sharing with Latitude, check-ins are entirely opt-in. You can share a check-in with your Latitude friends, Google+ circles, keep it private to yourself, or post it publicly to the web.
