Check-ins default to sharing with your Latitude friends. You can always modify this list to share your check-ins with others, or uncheck this option to keep your check-ins private.
Restrict your check-in to Latitude friends
- After choosing a check-in location, touch the sharing box.
- Select Friends on Latitude from your sharing options. If you have a Google+ account, you can alternatively choose to share with specific Google+ circles.
- Touch Check in here.
Your Latitude friends will be able to view your check-in in their Latitude friends list within the Latitude app. If you've joined Google+, your check-ins will also appear in your Google+ stream and will be visible to your Latitude friends and any other circles you decide to share your check-in with.
Note: If you share a check-in with Latitude friends, it will be visible to all Latitude friends, even if you are hiding your location from them.
Share your check-in publicly
- After choosing a check-in location, touch the sharing box.
- Select Public from your sharing options.
- Touch Check in here.
If you have a Google+ account, your public Latitude check-ins appear
- In your Google+ stream
- In the Google+ stream of anyone who has you in their circles
- On your public Google+ profile
Latitude friends will also be able to view your check-in in their Latitude friends list.
Keep your check-in private
- After choosing a check-in location, touch the sharing box.
- Uncheck all options in your sharing options.
- Touch Check in here.
Only you can view your check-in in your Latitude friends list and in your Google+ stream.
