If you let Google Earth find your location through your device, you can:
- Locate yourself on the globe.
- Get easy access to info about the world around you.
Tip: When you use the location feature and your position can’t be exactly determined, a large blue circle indicates the general area Google Earth thinks you're in.
Allow Google Earth to find your location
- On your Android phone or tablet, tap Settings .
- Tap Apps & notifications App info Earth.
- Tap Permissions.
- To let Google Earth use your device's location, turn on Location.
Find yourself on the globe
- On your Android phone or tablet, open Google Earth .
- In the bottom right, tap My Location .
Change your location mode
So Google Earth can always find your location, you can change your location mode.
To switch between location modes, in the bottom right, tap My Location .
Tip: Based on the status of My Location , you can check which mode is turned on:
- On, updating
- Off, not visible
