To test a Sitelink redirect in your browser, you’ll need to enter valid values for some of the {copy:} parameters in the Sitelink URL. This is different from other DS3 clickserver URLs, which can be tested directly in the browser without any modification.
Example of testing a Sitelink in your browser
Sitelink URL in raw form (not testable):
http://clickserve.dartsearch.net/link/click?{copy:lid}&{copy:ds_s_kwgid}&{copy:ds_e_adid}&{copy:ds_e_matchtype}&{copy:ds_url_v}&ds_s_sleid=26700000000000234&ds_s_sli=0&ds_dest_url=http%3A%2F%2Flearnmore.trident.edu%2Fj%2Fi%2F35792%2Fonline_bachelors_degree.html
You need to replace the following fields with real values from a keyword clickserver URL: lid, kwgid, and adid. Use IDs taken from a keyword that exists in the campaign featuring the Sitelink.
These three IDs are found in any DoubleClick Search clickserver URL. Using the same example, following is the DoubleClick Search clickserver URL, with the respective IDs bolded.
http://clickserve.dartsearch.net/link/click?lid=43700003016751849&ds_s_kwgid=58700000010010707&ds_e_adid={creative}&ds_e_matchtype={ifsearch:search}{ifcontent:content}&ds_url_v=2
Here are those IDs stripped from the DS clickserver URL:
lid=43700003016751849kwgid=58700000010010707adid={creative}
If you take the raw Sitelink URL and insert the IDs where the {copy:} parameter exists, the Sitelink should be ready to test. Following is a testable Sitelink incorporating the IDs from the keyword clickserver URL.
Sitelink URL in testable form:
http://clickserve.dartsearch.net/link/click?lid=43700003016751849&ds_s_kwgid=58700000010010707&ds_e_adid={creative}&ds_e_matchtype=search&ds_url_v=2&ds_s_sleid=26700000000000234&ds_s_sli=0&ds_dest_url=http%3A%2F%2Flearnmore.trident.edu%2Fj%2Fi%2F35792%2Fonline_bachelors_degree.html
Test the Sitelink: Copy and paste it in your browser bar, and then click enter. If the landing page URLs are set up correctly in DoubleClick Search, the Sitelink should redirect to the correct landing page.
