We try to make it as easy as possible for you to build a chart in Google spreadsheets, but sometimes we can't generate a chart preview if your data isn't set up properly. If you selected a range of cells that isn't compatible with a chart type, we'll show you a message in the preview box of the charts dialog with an example of how to structure your data.
